About Us

The Windrush Memorial Project is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage and history of the Windrush Generation. Our mission is to ensure that the stories of those who traveled from the Caribbean to rebuild Britain are never silenced.

The Rudolph Walker Foundation

The Rudolph Walker Foundation was established in 2009 on the 70th birthday of Rudolph Walker, CBE. Rudolph is widely regarded as part of the broader Windrush generation because he migrated from the Caribbean to Britain by boat in 1960. He is a highly respected actor with over 60 years’ experience in theatre, films and television.

Rudolph set up his Foundation to provide inspirational role models and positive activities which empower young people to overcome the obstacles which they may face in life, and build positive futures.

The Memorial Benches

Our memorial benches serve as physical markers of history within the park, ensuring that our local heritage is part of the daily landscape. They are places of rest, reflection, and community connection.

The Dixons symbolized the courage of Windrush families. Mr. Dixon’s career on the railways and their open-door policy for new arrivals helped build the vibrant community we see today.
